How do I make the solar remote stay in IR mode so it will control a soundbar connected to a QN75Q7FAA QLED TV? (I (don't think the TV matters)
The reset performed by middle button and return button until red light goes out doesn't work as indicated by checking for a signal with a smartphone camera.
I know it can be done because I had this functionality and lost it when I re-paired the remote hoping to make it work better with apps like PBS. Amateur error, huh!
I believe it was the soundbar customer support who helped me the first time but I can't remember the instructions.
Thanks for trying to help. As I believe I mentioned, I had this working in the past and lost operation when I reset the remote. The soundbar and TV are connected by eARC through an HDMI/optical converter and then to the soundbar. As I said, this configuration works if the remote is in IR mode. eARC is audio only so I am astonished if it can control soundbar volume. Do you have references for your statement? Eveything I've read here and other places says that the remote sends signals directly to the soundbar. Cheers.
Yeah, I have a Samsung TV and Samsung sound bar, and on the box and instructions for both the TV and the sound bar, it says the TV can control the bar via eARC without the use of the soundbar's remote. Maybe the soundbar isn't set to the correct input? This has also worked for a Samsung TV to Vizio soundbar, and a Vizio TV to a Vizio soundbar. Some soundbars have a little screen on them that lets you know the current input. Good luck
I have the same issue, I suspect that updates to the SW version in the TV has changed how this is working, I canโt get it working again. The remote automatically switches back to bluetooth efter A re-set.
iโm using a somos ray soundbar that only have optimal input, so HDMI is not an option.
