Samsung TV caller ID

Ok yes this is a first world not important issue,but I've been doing some thinking. Growing up during the time we had cable,when someone would call the phone the caller ID would show up on the tv so you would know who is calling. Ok that was years ago so now back to today. Melissa has a LG washer and dryer,and on my phone I have the LG app and I can see a timer and it will notify me when the cycles are complete. I started thinking well if a LG product can send notifications to my Samsung phone,Samsung and LG are both Korean competing companies btw. I thought my Samsung phone should be able to send caller ID notifications to my Samsung tv. Well I researched it and apperently it's not a thing. You can put the phone screen on the tv or the tv screen on the phone. Or use Samsung Dex which is mainly for giving Powerpoint presentations etc. The only notification option is for it to notify if someone is trying to connect their phone to the tv,and if you want to grant permission. Those who have a Samsung phone and tv,has anyone else thought about this?

Think sat tv has the caller ID on tv or did not seen in while where they have it anyway not sure that would be something I want

I wasn't referring to sat or cable tv. I was referring to when someone calls my Samsung phone,I think if you have a Samsung phone and tv you should have the option of recieving the caller ID on the TV.

Someone calling my Samsung cellphone/smart phone has nothing to do with Satalite or Cable.

Don't you have your phone in visual range when you are watching TV? Isn't it easy enough to look at the phone to see who's calling and decide if you want to answer or dismiss? You can assign custom ringtones for specific contacts so you would have an auditory indication of who's calling. To me, there's enough things flashing scross a TV screen at any given time, I wouldn't want caller ID to be one of them

Yes I have custom ringtones and notifications for my contacts,there are times however where I am using my Audiotechnicas for music,and may not hear the phone ring. I know somepeople would want it and some people don't want it. I just think you should have the choice.

@Force4 If you have recent Samsung appliances they will provide status via SmartThings. Our Samsung dishwasher provides status and sends a notification when the cycle is complete. The TV, along with our phones, shows the notification.

Looks to me like he read your post and told you what you wanted to do was possible provided you have a late model TV that links to Smart things.
