Optical output Variable or Fixed

Does anyone know if the output of the optical conection on the newer QLED and Frame TV's can be set to variable for intergetion into a sonos amp? Or is this output non-variable.

The optical audio output is fixed. Your Sonos amp should be controlling the volume.
