We watch over-the-air broadcast channels. Channel frequencies have been changing (thank you FCC), requiring a rescan of the channels to acquire the new frequencies. This used to be an easy task. But now Settings appears to have been 'dumbed down' to only a few choices - Display, Audio, Game, Remote, Network, etc. I have tried repeatedly to find the detailed settings options that were available when we first bought our QLED 65" in November 2018. I push the 'house' key on the remote, scroll left to the 'gear' icon, and the above list of options appears in a left to right string across the bottom of the screen. Did Samsung take away all the advanced setting options because idiots were screwing up their TVs?

Change your source to TV first and then try again. If you're on other sources like HDMI, then the Broadcasting function will be ghosted out.

You'll need to actually select the "gear" icon to bring up the Settings menu. From there, go to Broadcasting > Auto Program > Air.

What you're currently seeing by just hovering over the "gear" icon is a quick settings navigation.

Oh. Well that was simple enough.

However, the Broadcasting function is ghosted out. When I click on it it get - This function is not available, so I cannot scan the broadcast channels.
