  1. Play the video you want to watch. Videos that include subtitle appear with the subtitle symbol ("CC") on their overview pages. Most videos that support subtitle include English text. Other languages may also be available.
  2. After playback has started, tap the Menu > Subtitles > On. In the subtitles menu, you can also customize the font size and color scheme for the subtitle text. Your selections apply to all videos you play until you change them again.
  3. Tap outside the subtitle menu to return to video playback with subtitles on.
  4. To turn subtitles off, tap the Menu > Subtitles > Off. You can also manage your Amazon Video subtitle settings under Subtitle Preferences

thank you for your response.  i don't have a "menu" option with the remote.  i have, however, been able to find the "caption" feature on the Accessibility page and it is turned ON.  prime video does not respond to this as there are no captions appearing.

on the movie overview page there is a 'subtitle'  option but it doesn't respond.

i'm seriously thinking about deleting the app off the tv (if it's even possible) and go back to using my firestick.  again, thank you for your time.
