Hi folks.

I'm the very proud possesor of a Sansung 2018 QLED TV (Q6FN Series). It's still sitting on version 1251 firmware even though I can see 1260.8 on the support site.

It doesn't show up during an Internet update or when downloading the file to a USB stick.

Frustrating since Samsung made a huge announcement with Apple a few months ago.

Any ideas? - BTW I'm an Apple Certified field engineer.

Thanks a million.

Ken.

Just a thought.

I'm in sunny South Africa. Is it possible thet the files are location locked?

Our local Samsung site isn't showing the new file - just the old 1251

I saw on another board that there had been revisions later than 1251.

I texted Samsung Customer Support and asked about revisions or updates.

The Tech stated that 1251 was the latest available.

Where did you go to see that there is a 1260.8 update?

Thank you!

Here is the link to the firmware update:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/2018-qled-tv-q6fn-series

I don't see it from the TV itself but will try a USB update on my own Q6FN later today.

Thanks a million tomsframe.

I had a reply from Samsung essentially saying "we dont know".

I downloaded from your link but thought I'd try the TV route.

It showed up! And installed!

Glad I could help; thanks for marking as Solution Mac-CT!

I did try the update myself and it worked. I've only done the USB thing one other time, that on my 65" Frame TV, and that was the same deal where the update was on the server but not at the TV itself. It does always surprise (and somewhat frighten) me that for as big as these updates are, over a GB in size, that they work so quickly. For as long as it takes to actually write to my USB 2.0 stick, the reading and writing at the TV itself is so much quicker it seems like it's not working!

I'm enjoying my Q6FN though I did actually have to turn the brightness down! The QLED and backlighting are amazing!

Make sure the USB drive is formatted as MS-DOS FAT. This is the only way I got the TV to recognize the USB drive.
