I have found in a Dutch Samsung forum a " community manager " of their page as said that mid July there will be an update for all MuzeM (T-MSMDEUC) platforms , which is all qled tvs of 2019 bringing HDMI 2.1 to the arc port...... AKA
MOFOIN eARC !!!!!
links below, you will have to translate it as it's all in Dutch..... I used google browser and it did it for me..
please like this if you're excited as I am let's all keep our fingers crossed 🤞
Don't need translate for this and as I was part of that thread and answered me. I can confirm he asked a product specialist for me on this. It will be there as of mid juli.
After some talking with that manager I got some more intel, it will also contain some internal fixes and a fix for Netflix with athmos.
I managed to figure out that the Q70R and up the ones with the FMBL will get it as someone with a Q60R said his wouldn't get it. And I own Q70 and 80.
It would be nice if they supplied us a change log when the releases updates but I don't think we're gonna get that. So u know what has been fixed and added.
I have a 85" Class Q7 series 2019 with software version T-MSMAKUC-1356.2. Not sure if MSM'DEUC' is b/c of the Dutch software release?
There was speculation that the eArc update was only going to be for the Q9 series.
My Q80R got it (2019) I know this because the embedded Netflix app is now showing Atmos in their description. To also confirm I have the q90r Soundbar system with Dolby Atmos. For the first time since I bought it, it now displays Dolby Atmos! I've always been a fan of Samsung but for them to sell me a $2,000 Soundbar that doesn't work to its potential with the qled line of TV is a scam. Allegedly these Sound Bars were made to be coupled with their corresponding TVs. I call bs. Who dropped the ball over there mr. Samsung? Trying to release your products too soon without working all the bugs out is Bush League. 🖕you
Having Atmos sound does not indicate that the TV supports eARC. This set has supported Atmos (via DD+) since it was first released. The update to add eARC is still pending and has not been released for this set.
eARC will add support for Atmos over TrueHD (used in BluRay and UHD BluRay) but not much else. As far as I know, no DTS formats nor multichannel PCM will be supported, as these are not currently supported in the 2020 models at all.
