Dolby Atmos delay in QLED Q95T and HW-Q70T Soundbar

Qled and Frame

Hi. I have a Q95T 2020 QLED TV, and a Samsung HW-Q70T Soundbar to which I added the  rear speakers kit SWA-9000S.

Dolby Atmos, when coming from external HDMI source, has a 1-2 seconds delay.

My setup:

  • An Android TV box running VLC playing a Dolby Atmos media file, using passthrough audio
  • TV is set to Q-Symphony (TV+Soundbar)
  • HDMI-eARC Mode to Auto
Digital Output Audio Format to Auto

Dolby Atmos Compatibility (selected and on)

  • Cables are all eARC certified

The soundbar acknowledges Atmos is working. It is showing the DOLBY ATMOS label when playing starts.

However Atmos sound is delayed 1-2 seconds and there is a audio/video sync issue with video.

When playing regular stereo or 5.1 audio non-Atmos, sound is OK.

I suspect this may have happened since the 1497 firmware upgrade of the TV.

Any ideas, anyone?
