Native apps support for Atmos

@SamsungGill sorry I had to start a new discussion. I couldn't reply to your message you responded to.

Is the reason native app as, like Vudu, not able to send Atmos to soundbar because if eARC? The tv itself has configuration options to send Atmos somewhere. So if it's not to a soundbar, and it's not from a native app and it's not from an external Blu-ray 4K device connected to OneConnect, then what in the world am I missing?

eARC should allow the native apps to send Atmos, though I cannot speculate on compatibility between devices.

Re: Native apps support for Atmos

Contrary to the information in the other post. My 2018 QLED can play atoms from native apps, over arc, with Dolby digital +. You must select DD+ in the tv sound menu as the sound output, but it will be grayed out if the app or the video playing does not have a DD+ track.
