After extensive searching and seeing various issues related to eARC/Dolby Atmos passthrough, I figured I'd post about the issue here.
My Q80T panel drops Dolby Atmos audio for a few seconds periodically (2 or 3 times in an average length movie) when passing DA through eARC. My setup supports eARC (I've got a surround receiver rated for eARC/Dolby Atmos) and these drops only occur with Dolby Atmos compatibility turned on.
I've factory reset everything and toggled all of the options (arc/eARC, DA compatibility, etc.). The TV passes other audio fine, like Dolby Digital surround.
Samsung if you could respond to this, your chat/phone reps seem to think I'm talking about 4K video content for some reason when I'm talking about audio passthrough.
