Also, after rereading your comment to @Mike-B again, you said social media is only picking up on the ones in the internal storage. Well my friend, thats what its supposed to do. Social media apps wont pick up anything but whats on your internal storage. Meaning you have to have the picture or video on your device physically in order to upload to a social media apps. 🖖

Hold social media app, click i, deny all permissions, reboot. Hold social media app, click i, allow all permissions, reboot. 🖖
Wait... You said you did a factory hard reset? Bro, your pictures are gone! 😳
Never do a hard reset unless your phones system ui is malfunctioning. Most issues can be resolved without a hard reset. Im afraid that if you didnt copy/backup your photos from internal storage to a pc or cloud, they are gone.

They are all backed up to Google photos and OneDrive and yes I did lose some. I'm used to having a SD card and 23 Ultra is the first Samsung phone I've had without an SD card so using internal storage is new to me😠

I have a computer with a 20tb hdd that i use to backup all my s23 ultra data. I use it as network storage in my files so i can transfer all my photos and videos and user data to that backup drive on my network so i dont have to plug my device in to transfer. 💪
But yes, miss the days of SD cards.
