Once the beta 2 is available, should I do a factory reset? Or is it safe to just update?

Should be safe to just update but personally I backup my stuff and factory reset that's just because I find that there's way less problems doing that.

I'd advise you not to reset. It doesn't serve much of a benefit as you think

Agreed. I did factory reset a couple years ago during a beta test and ended up nuking my work app credentials ( work app was like, who dis?!) . It was also before Samsung discontinued SD card slots.

I've not rebooted after beta 2 but it likely can't hurt....💥

PS I've done that reboot. Nothing blew up, no smoke, no crashes. We're good.

We recommend you back-up data before updating.  However, it is not necessary to perform factory data reset.
