I only use Google Photos, Drive and Google one for all my stuff. I do this because I 3D print and have tons of files backed up there. This makes it also extremely easy to pull files and photos that are not on my phone.
However it is a nightmare to select those photos and files from native a 3rd part apps. This is a MAJOR reason why I use Google messages but it would be nice to access these from 3rd part apps like Facebook and what not.
If there is a way I can do this as naturally as using the gallery app without having to download it from Google photos first that would be amazing. It would also be amazing if all the photos could remain in the gallery but be backed up to Google photos without taking up any storage like a portal so you don't have this issue that would be also amazing. This is my question and also a question I get A LOT ALOT from my customers. I work for Verizon Wireless Corporate and I have tons of these kind of questions and they all come to me because I'm the "Android Guy" in my district š
Yeah, I'm glad the Gallery app has cloud storage with OneDrive, but integrating with GDrive or just only having the GPhotos app would be waaaaay better. One UI is nice and all but the Pixels keep looking better and better...
Most apps that are not from Google looks like for a photo that is on the device. As Google photos and stored with in their app data, Only way to use those picture with out downloading would be to implement google api connection which can be a challenge considering android tries as much as possible to not share data between apps at that level.
Currently only option to sync photos from gallery is Samsung cloud. If you are ok to use this option, you phots do remain in gallery but can be backed up to cloud too and allows sharing in 3rd party apps too.
