Not receiving call if phone is idle

Anyone else experiencing issues with their S24 Ultra where they will not receiving phone calls, unless you are actively using the phone or if connected to Wi-Fi calling? This has been happening for the past month or two. I'm on beta 4 and have had the issue since at least beta 3. I have reset network settings, no change.

I'm not having that issue. Sorry to hear that you are and I see no 1 responded so I wanted to. Have you submitted a formal complaint to Samsung or called your phone company to see if they have any suggestions? You can do error reports to Samsung. I would try both if you haven't. I just came here to see if anyone else had this issue. I had a missed call a few days ago and didn't hear it ring, and wrote it off as maybe I just missed it cause I wasn't right by my phone. Well it just happened again with a very important call. Phone on desk right next to me, definitely never rang but shows missed call. Full WiFi and cell service where I am

Thank you for reporting this issue. We understand how frustrating it can be to miss important calls, especially when the phone shows full Wi-Fi and cellular service. Since you've already tried resetting network settings, here are a few additional things you might want to check:

1. Check Do Not Disturb (DND) Settings

Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and ensure that itā€™s not enabled or automatically turning on under scheduled settings.

 

2. Review Call & Notification Permissions

Check if any battery optimizations are limiting background processes for the Phone app (Settings > Apps > Phone > Battery > Set to "Unrestricted").

 

3. Test Call Behavior in Safe Mode (Extra work, but may help)

Restart your phone in Safe Mode (Press and hold power > Long press "Power off" > Select Safe Mode) to see if a third-party app is interfering with incoming calls.

 

4. Check Carrier & Network Settings

Ensure VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling settings are correctly enabled under Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.

If using Wi-Fi Calling, test whether the issue happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data.

 

5. Submit a Bug Report

If the issue persists, we recommend reporting it via Samsung Members > Beta Feedback > Error Reports while the issue occurs. Attaching system logs will help the development team investigate further.

 


Please let us know if you notice any specific patterns (e.g., certain contacts, only on Wi-Fi, only after being idle for a certain time, etc.). Your feedback is valuable in ensuring a stable final release.
