I read a report that some Samsung users on T-Mobile are seeing a new satellite network option on their Samsung phones. Has anybody heard if we will be able to be part of the T-Mobile starlink beta if we are on the Samsung one UI 7 beta?

That's a separate program that T-mobile is doing. If you are interested, you can apply and early next year they will let people know who's approved

Yeah I've already applied but being in the UI 7 beta is that going to affect the T-Mobile starlink beta The reason I ask is because people that signed up for the beta are getting a new satellite network option to turn on their Galaxy s24 phones.

You should reach out to T-Mobile. Ultimately, they would have the final word on if it will work. However, it's possible that the One UI beta could be over before T-Mobile even starts their beta.

From what I've seen, that satellite option is popping up because Android 15 allows satellite connectivity as a native feature - should a carrier support it. That could just simply be appearing due to One UI 7 being Samsungs take on Android 15.

Then shouldn't it be on the one UI 7 beta?

Not necessarily, not every feature for an OS will immediately be available during a beta. Especially since Samsung can choose what features are present due to their own custom skin. Google doesn't typically force manufacturers to do everything they implement in stock Android.

Not only that but the ability for this software is something that back end, meaning it isn't something that we would see necessarily as an end user - even if the ability is there. Think of it more so as the developer options.

Then, even if all of that works, Tmobile would have to enable it to work on the One UI 7 Beta - which is a bit uncommon for carriers to do. The reason it will fall on Tmobile is because right now, they are basically the only company providing that as a service. So if they don't enable it, even if the option presents itself on the software, it doesn't mean it will work.

So we're going to have to wait to see if everything works as intended.

Naturally, this is just my understanding so something could be different or we might get more information soon.

However, it might even be possible that we exist the One UI beta before the features for T-Mobile's beta even releases, making all of this a mute point

Tmobile Dec update Android 14! added satilite in connection settings, it's not active yet! But it's not in bata 7 update yet! Hopefully it will be included in update 3! I also applied for the satellite program haven't received a invite yet! But if UI7 3 update doesn't have Satilite in connection, I won't be able to try it! My wife's S24 ultra git the de update & she has the satellite connection on her phone just not actived!

Hello,

As many users commented great posts about Satellite / One UI 7 Beta feedback, we do choose certain features to be included in the Beta software. Also, participating in multiple Beta program won't affect the "registration" process, but we cannot guarantee which apps will crash while participating under various Beta program.
