If yes, you should try Google GBoard ... if for nothing else, it may inadvertently fix thing when you [eventually] switch back to S.Keyboard
(phone) Settings > Apps
Tap on three-bars to the right of "Your apps".
Tap, "Show system apps", then Ok
Tap on Samsung Keyboard
Tap Force Stop, lower right
Tap Storage, Clear Cache, if available.
Exit out ... now, try again
I repeatedly experience the navigation back not working across various apps (including Google and Samsung apps). It is annoying and I hope they fix it.
BTW, this would be independent of the keyboard in use since the keyboard does not manage navigation.
