Voice to text not working properly

I use Gboard not the Samsung keyboard for my voice to text and keyboard needs. Whenever I want to use the voice input I hit the microphone key and it says initializing and then it fails. If I hit the microphone key on off and then on it immediately initializes and allows me to speak. This is a new bug I don't know if this is a software on the Samsung side or on the Google side but it has been reproducible even with a clearing of cache and multiple reboots. 

Anyone else having similar issues?

I am typing now with the voice to text option on my Gboard and it seems to be working correctly

I always have to do the double tap I wonder what the cause is. I cleared the cache on gboard also. Hrmmmm

Mine did that, was fixed by powering off.

Yes my voice to text doesn't work using Google messages. Yes all permissions are on.
