What are / how do I remove, the little red circles with numbers inside them that appear on my screen icons. For example: on my GMAIL icon that indicates that I have X emails waiting to be read. However on the "Google", "Samsung" and "Play Store" app I cannot seem to determine what the circle/number means nor how to remove them. If I click on them and select "Clear" it dissappears only to reappear next time I use the device (Galaxy S6 Tablet).

@alwrmcusn It is probably the number of new notifications which is being displayed. Try this:

  1. Open the settings on the device.
  2. Click on Notifications
  3. Disable "App icon badges"

The instructions above are for a phone but may be slightly different for a tablet. If you don't find it per the instructions above, open settings on your device and search for "badges". That should lead you to the correct setting location.
