Hey! Just noticed that the main camera can't detect this qr code at all, while iPhones at similar distances can. Only when using the 0.6 lens and coming extremely close it'll scan

Have you gone into camera settings and made sure scene optimizer and scan QR code are toggled on?

It's probably an item Samsung cannot scan
You might need to get a QR code Scanner app

There's no such thing of a qr that samsung can't scan. It either scans qr or it doesn't.

I am sorry to hear that your camera is only able to scan QR codes at .6, and can understand how annoying it can be. Have you tried clearing the Camera app's cache and data? Simply navigate to Settings > Apps > scroll and find the Camera app > tap it > tap Storage & cache > tap the options to clear cache and storage/data.

If that doesn't improve the behavior, there may be a third-party application to blame. Use Safe Mode to see if this is the case: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

Lastly, if the behavior persist under Safe Mode, it may be time to give a factory reset a try. Follow this guide carefully and make sure you back up everything you do not wish to lose: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
