Good job big brains! Im so tired of buying product to have the major feature i bought them for be taken away later on. I should be illegal for you guys to turn off major functions of a device that sold with those features intact. I bought into samsung ecosystem specifically for the dex support I makes things so easy to be able to have full screen access to the apps I need configured and be able to take that to and from offices and just get on with it. Now its gone and I have no reason to stay with samsung. As a matter of fact from now on I will no longer be buying samsung tablets and phones. Even if the competition doesnt have a dex alternative I will be moving to them just for the fact that ive spent the last 10 years buying samsung products solely for dex support and to have it yanked out under me i wont be back.

Windows phone link is not an suitable alternative there is no window resizing, no horizontal apps, no fullscreen. Slow and buggy, we have to unlock the phone every 30 seconds, drag and drop is fried. Its not a suitable replacement.

And they likely took Dex away so they could put some feature nobody asked for on your phone instead, I'd bet

DeX did not go away, it is only the Windows app that lost support

I bet it is pressure from Microsoft that forced killing this. Microsoft is a predator!

Dex is only gone when you try to launch it to a device using Windows. It still works to cast or connect via cable to a monitor or a television.

Google is working on their own Dex like experience but I'm not sure if it'll have a Windows or PC app.  Maybe Samsung plans to drop Dex completely once this is released:

Ai Generated:
Android is coming out with a DeX-like desktop mode. Google is developing its own version of Samsung DeX for Android, and we have a first look at what Android's upcoming desktop mode will look like on Pixel phones. This feature brings a PC-like interface to Pixel and stock Android, allowing users to launch multiple apps in floating windows and control everything with a keyboard and mouse.
While DeX remains exclusive to Samsung devices, Google is finally working on its own version.
The desktop mode almost certainly won’t launch in the upcoming Android 16 stable release, but it could arrive in one of the upcoming quarterly releases of Android 16 or with Android 17
