What happens when your phone is lost? Or in some cases, stolen? The person gets away with the phone and eventually uses it for the rest of the phone's life. A few years back, Samsung has managed to introduce FRP that prevents using phone without the Google account associated and which many providers can bypass, even without having access to the physical device.

But it shouldn't be. Ironically, the security should be like an iPhone, so when it is protected the device is useless upon lost/theft and security unbreakable. Samsung, it is high time to get out of the norm that is weak and become stronger.

Two things are very insecure on the Galaxies.

1. Anyone having physical access to the phone can easily reset the phone from recovery mode.

2. Even if a phone is FRP locked, it can by bypassed.

So, dear Samsung, please implement a protection that cannot be bypassed and secure the Recovery mode or prevent flashing the CSC firmware that erases all data.

Hello izephyr, Thanks for reaching out.

If you are unable to unlock the phone, you can try a factory reset from the recovery menu.

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears

- Use volume buttons to navigate to FACTORY RESET

- Use power button to select

It is required to enter your Google or Samsung account information to gain access to the device. Without the correct information, the device will not unlock.

If you're not able to reset there, you will need a copy of the original bill of sale, and you can reach out to a Samsung (1-800-726-7864) with the information to have service set up for the service center to unlock it.
