Samsung Apps and ServicesHello, Samsung+ Community!
It's Acrillix here bringing you a guide on how to resolve the Bixby Briefing setting in the Alarm app.
What is Bixby Briefing?: Bixby Briefing is actually really cool and I've been using it for awhile now. What it does is when the alarm rings, it plays some nice gentle music and Bixby starts telling you the time, the weather, and some recent news (Powered by Google).
How Do I Turn on Bixby Briefing?: You can do this two ways...
Setting it up from the Alarm App -
- Go to the Alarm App
- Set an alarm
- Turn on Bixby Briefing
- Note that you cannot have custom music at the same time! It's one or the other.
- Save the Alarm
Setting it up with Bixby -
- Hold the Bixby Button or say "Hi Bixby!"
- Command Bixby: "Set an alarm for 8 am (or the time you want it)" | Or use a Custom Command like me: "Good Night" (this sets the alarm for 8 am, turns on blue light filter, and turns on Do Not Disturb)
- Bixby will automatically set the alarm and turn on Bixby Briefing for you.
What if Bixby doesn't read it aloud?: If your alarm goes off tomorrow (or you can test it by setting it for one minute ahead) and it doesn't work (this happened to me) then follow these steps:
- Go to Galaxy Apps and ensure all apps are up to date
- Go to Settings > Software Updates and ensure you are up to date
- Go to Bixby (press Bixby Button or slide left) and tap the three dots at the top right > then tap Settings > About Bixby. Ensure you are up to date
- After you make sure everything is up to date, go to Bixby again and tap on the Bixby logo at the top and then the furthest left icon next to History, then tap on Quick Commands and delete your Custom Command for Bixby to set your alarm. After deleting it, close all Apps and restart the device. Then setup that quick command again and test it.
Hope this helps!

Samsung Apps and ServicesI just got my S9 today (with t-mobile) and tried this feature with the same results as you.
Seems like the mods keep spouting out the same directions over and over again that don't work unfortunately.
I suspect it might just be have to do with us having t-mobile unless other people having this problem aren't using it. No idea why or how that could affect it though since everything else about Bixby seems to work (the mods baseboard suggestion might be correct but as far as I know, that could just be updated if they provide it, based on my little knowledge about them)

Samsung Apps and ServicesCome on, Samsung. Can you truthfully say you've seen / heard Bixby briefing working correctly? It really annoys me to see you tell people to try steps that you know don't work, or at least have never seen seen them fix the problem!

Samsung Apps and Services!!!!!!YOUR SUGGESTION WORKED FOR ME!!!!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Yes everyone, you have to go to the Galaxy App and download The Weather Channel App. NOT the Play Store!
Uninstall The Weather Channel App if you downloaded it from the Play Store.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Samsung Apps and ServicesHooray! Finally, a solution that works 😊
No need to uninstall this, or reset that - just simply install the weather channel app through galaxy apps and NOT the playstore.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 😁😁

Samsung Apps and ServicesIs this article up to date?
How do you get to HISTORY?
When I press the logo, my options are STATUS, VOICE APPS, and TUTORIAL. Or am I missing something here?
Also, some days the wake up works, others it doesn't. Why? Fix different? Everything up to date daily

Samsung Apps and ServicesI've tried several different things to get Bixby briefing to work but I'm still having no luck. I've even switched out my S9 and did a factory hard reset. If someone could please help me with getting the Bixby briefing to work with my alarms, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Samsung Apps and ServicesHey, I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us about this, @Rockwitshe. Have you already attempted to clear the data for your Bixby apps?
Go to Settings > Apps > Bixby Voice > Storage > tap "Clear Data"?
Repeat this action for Bixby Home, Bixby Service, Bixby Service, Bixby Vision and Bixby Voice and let us know if this helps after reinstalling updates. Thanks!
