Samsung Apps and ServicesHello, Samsung+ Community!
It's Acrillix here bringing you a guide on how to resolve the Bixby Briefing setting in the Alarm app.
What is Bixby Briefing?: Bixby Briefing is actually really cool and I've been using it for awhile now. What it does is when the alarm rings, it plays some nice gentle music and Bixby starts telling you the time, the weather, and some recent news (Powered by Google).
How Do I Turn on Bixby Briefing?: You can do this two ways...
Setting it up from the Alarm App -
- Go to the Alarm App
- Set an alarm
- Turn on Bixby Briefing
- Note that you cannot have custom music at the same time! It's one or the other.
- Save the Alarm
Setting it up with Bixby -
- Hold the Bixby Button or say "Hi Bixby!"
- Command Bixby: "Set an alarm for 8 am (or the time you want it)" | Or use a Custom Command like me: "Good Night" (this sets the alarm for 8 am, turns on blue light filter, and turns on Do Not Disturb)
- Bixby will automatically set the alarm and turn on Bixby Briefing for you.
What if Bixby doesn't read it aloud?: If your alarm goes off tomorrow (or you can test it by setting it for one minute ahead) and it doesn't work (this happened to me) then follow these steps:
- Go to Galaxy Apps and ensure all apps are up to date
- Go to Settings > Software Updates and ensure you are up to date
- Go to Bixby (press Bixby Button or slide left) and tap the three dots at the top right > then tap Settings > About Bixby. Ensure you are up to date
- After you make sure everything is up to date, go to Bixby again and tap on the Bixby logo at the top and then the furthest left icon next to History, then tap on Quick Commands and delete your Custom Command for Bixby to set your alarm. After deleting it, close all Apps and restart the device. Then setup that quick command again and test it.
Hope this helps!

Samsung Apps and ServicesI have the same issue.
On the very first day it worked just fine reading the time and the weather condition, the next day only the alarm sound. I have a reccurent alarm for workdays.
Than I disabled the alarm and re-enabled it, it worked again for 1 day, than the day after only the alarm sound again.
What is going on?
I do not have any other alarm clock installed - I had but I unsintalled it.

Samsung Apps and ServicesHey, @zolimar, that does seem like some irritating behavior. Would you mind going to Settings > Apps > Clock > Storage and tap "Clear Data"?
This should clear out any information that may be preventing Bixby Briefing from being triggered. Please be advised that this will disable all active alarms.

Samsung Apps and ServicesWould you mind providing us with the version of the Clock application you are running, @zolimar? You can find this by going to Clock > Tap the three dots in the top right corner > tap "About Clock" > and provide us with the version number found on that page.
Thanks!

Samsung Apps and ServicesYes, sure. I am using 7.0.80.40 vesion, but unfortunatelly after 2 days working perfectly today Bixby was silent as a lamb, only a music sounded, nevertheless I have the same alarm which is reccurent for every working day. I did not change anything in the alarm nor the clock.
I don't know whaty is wrong...
I updated again today the clock to the latest version: 7.0.81.11, and cleared again the data, it seems not beeing the problem.
Please solve this or give me a way to solve it, even if you have beta version apk, I can try it out - Note 8 Duos, stock firmware, untouched, latest one received OTA

Samsung Apps and ServicesHi! I'm also from Canada (Quebec province) and I have the same problems with my new Note 8. Bixby tells me the time once, then "have a good day" and then plays music in a loop without saying anything more...
I had it saying the weather the first 3 or 4 times and then... dead. The news? ...never heard them. I read all the comments and "solutions" of that section and other sections about this topic, tried everything (I'm on it since more than 3 hours now) and so far nothing works....! 😞
Clock: 7.0.81.11
Android: 7.1.1
Provider: Rogers
Bixby: Version 2.1.03.33
Bixby Voice : Version 1.0.14.6
I tried downloading the "new" Weather Channel for SAMSUNG, shut off everything in the parameters of the regular Weather Channel but it says i can't desactivate the app.
By the way, I prefer the look and the multiple functionalities of the "new" app but I prefer the graphic with the curves of the original ones cause it allows you to see the temperature changes with the blink of an eye. Also, the original Weather Channel app clearly shows the temperature that is felt and it is REALLY important to have that information cause it makes a huge difference here! Like now it is -15°C outside but the real feel is -21°C !!!! Huge difference, so the realfeel should also appear in the Widget of the app and be mentionned by Bixby too.
Thanks
Anna
