Earlier today, my phone was in the standby mode.  All of a sudden it started playing something at a loud volume.  I turned the app off that was playing some movie or TV show or something.  Not sure why it started playing.  I noticed that my mobile data warning came up, and that an app called Samsung Free had just gobbled up 1.8 GB of data in a relatively short period of time.  I went into Settings - Apps and found Samsung Free and tried to uninstall it or disable it and was not able to do that.  I have never used  this app, nor intend to.  I'm wondering if anyone knows how to uninstall or at a minimum disable this dangerous app.

@BobPS7

You can disable it by

  1. Long pressing on a blank spot on the home screen until the row of icons appear at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Swipe right until you see the Samsung Free screen
  3. Slide the switch at the top to the left to turn it off.

"There is no switch on the Free screen. Now what?"

Look at my instructions again.

You should end up at this screen after you do step 1 and 2.
