Driving mode turns on and Opens Maps correctly when I connect to my vehicle Bluetooth. But when I turn off my vehicle (bluetooth no longer active) it does not Close Maps. I've tested other options in Driving Mode - Do Not Disturb - which works as expected - it stops!
It appears that Driving Mode is not set up to shut down the app that it started! I tested Exercise Mode by having it Start YouTube Music when Exercise Mode was turned on. When Exercise Mode was turned off YouTube Music STOPPED as expected. YouTube Music is an app - just as Maps is an app.....
Driving Mode should STOP any app that was begun when Driving Mode was TURNED ON.

I am having the exact same issue all my routines work driving even works properly when it starts but when I come home or say I park my car at a job site and I go out and do some work it still says I'm driving and it won't stop until I manually turn off driving mode.
This is hardly a convenience I'm most likely going to buy a Google pixel next Samsung's BLOATWEAR doesn't work get it together make it work I'm off about this.
