I think Home Up's new DIY feature is probably one of the best things Samsung added in One UI 7
Here's a little something I worked on. Not sure if I want to add anything or leave it. I might change up the icons though

I like how the crows and wolves are sitting on the icons and widgets 😊

UI Updates: A Downgrade in Disguise
Kinda scared for future ones tbh. I just updated my 24 Ultra to UI 7 and let me be the first to tell you — this is a downgrade.

I spent a good 20 minutes figuring out how to fix the convoluted and overbuilt they stole from none other than... Apple.

That dumb notification panel/quick panel split. I'm a busy person — to a point — and I do not have time to think about which of three different areas I need to swipe from just to access something that used to be one swipe from two different locations.

Where was the thought in overcomplicating something that simple?

This update sold itself way above how it actually functions. My apps got smaller, my system buttons got larger and more child-like, and my apps screen now scrolls??? And for what reason?

I have 1.5 lines of apps on that screen — everything on my phone is organized into folders. My edge panel has seven folders and one app. No scrolling involved.

Simple is now convoluted and targeted at people who can't manage basic phone organization.

It’s ridiculous.

Forced Gestures: Accessibility Takes a Hit

Samsung keeps forcing gestures down our throats, and every update makes it worse.
For instance, I swipe up to access apps and then swipe up again to get back to the home screen — like I've always been able to do — but now, I can't?
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Instead, it auto-scrolls, even when there's nothing to scroll to — like 1cm of useless movement — and then I have to swipe the other direction just to get home. Dumb. It's dumb.
There was no need for this change, and yet, they changed it... why?

I updated my phone, and for the second time, Samsung made it more difficult to use, with less accessibility, and more forced gesture functions.
It's like they're actively trying to make it worse for people who actually know how to organize their phones.

Company Overreach: Good Lock to the Rescue

At least I can turn Circle to Search off.
And thank for Good Lock — I would be crying without it.

Seriously, Samsung, — make your phones great again, puhhleaseee.

It’s wild that the last big UI update Samsung pushed out was also a nightmare for me.
I wasn't able to control my phone properly because of all the forced gestures they applied back then too.
Feels like every major update now is less about improving usability and more about "simplifying" things for the lowest common denominator — and punishing anyone who actually uses their phone like a power user.

PS: If you're struggling with UI and forced gesture controls after Samsung's latest updates, try downloading the Good Lock app.
It might save your sanity.

It's funny so many people were clamoring for the update, then went out of their minds with the delay, now we're finding that many of those same people do not like One UI7. LOL SMH

You said you spent 20 minutes to fix it. If you did fix it, why are you here complaining? If you didn't, I can tell you now that all is the issue you mentioned are easily changed back in settling.

Yeah, I fixed it — but honestly, that’s not really what matters. Changes like this weren’t necessary in the first place. Whether it’s 'better' is subjective, but the trend is clear: shifting control away from users, little by little. It’s less about any one issue and more about where it's all headed.
