Very helpful but the main thing I noticed after update is faster battery draining and NO FAST CHARGE! Using same chargers I have used for 2 years and after update, phone no longer fast charges and takes forever to charge. Help!

Thank you! I hate that I can't just pull down for the notifications without pulling from the right. It wasn't that touchy before. I hate the rounded notifications and battery icon too. Ughh.. It blends in too easily making it hard to quickly glance when I am at work etc...

Like many people, I had my Galaxy Fold 6 update to UI 7 the other day. To my dismay, I find UI 7 to be worse from a usability standpoint.   Here are things I don't like and what I did to correct them back to UI 6.

APP PAGES

UI 7 changed the usability of Apps Page. The beauty of the former App pages was you could flip page by page, left and right, so if you knew that LinkedIn app was on page 3, you just flip over and there it is. The new interface allow you to only scroll up and down and there are no breaks between apps, so you are contstantly searching for the app. How can I get rid of all apps with the scrolling up and down and go back to the bold way where X number of apps were on a page and I had multiple pages?

To revert Samsung Galaxy's app drawer back to the paginated layout of One UI 6, navigate to the app drawer, tap the three-dot menu, then select "Sort," and choose "Custom order" instead of "Alphabetical order".

Be aware that this will not return your apps to the layout they were previously shown.

The answer is to click the three dots in the search bar, select Clean Up Pages.

TOP PANEL

In One UI 7, swiping down from the top right corner opens the Quick Settings panel, while swiping down from the top left or center opens the Notifications panel.  After years of using a single swipe from the top, the new setting can be annoying and if you happen to be left handed, pulling down from the top right is cumbersome. How to fix?

To combine both into a single panel, you can change the panel settings by pulling down from the top right, tapping the pencil icon, selecting "Panel settings," and choosing "Together" under "Notification and quick settings view".

EYE COMFORT SHIELD

Accessing Eye Comfort Shield settings in UI 7 is not as easy as in UI 6, but it is possible. Turned on Enhanced Comfort in Eye Comfort Shield settings. Settings>Display>Eye comfort shield>Enhanced comfort (toggle on).

BLUETOOTH ICON MISSING

UI 7 has replaced the nice UI 6 battery icon on the top of the screen with what looks like a Tic Tac mint with a number in it. Ok, fine. But why take away the Bluetooth icon, which made it easy to quickly see whether Bluetooth was turned on.  As I searched the web, I found a video that stated Samsung removed it to clean up the interface.

BATTERY DRAIN

UI 7 causes the battery to drain faster than UI 6. Yes, this is true.  From my tests, it appears the new UI 7 reduces battery usage by about 84 minutes a day.  How to fix?  I have not found a way to restore the battery to it's performance under UI 6.

ROUNDED ICONS

The new interface design, especially with the rounded icons, is rather sterile and loses the crisp, clean look of UI 6. What's really bad are the slider bars with the rounded internal slider which was flat on one side and now is rounded. As a user who would flip the screen brightness to a specific location, the flat edge was much easier to match than the rounded edge. How to fix?

Well, I haven't found a way within Samsung to revert to the old look, but the Good Lock app and its Theme Park plugin to apply a third-party icon pack with squared corners.

I hope these tips help you.

I called CS about the top panel swipe. Terrible feature for us right handed folk. They told me there was nothing I could do. Thanks for saving me from having to buy a new phone 😂

It's called letting the battery readjust for a week or so after an OS update, lol

It's funny so many people were clamoring for the update, then went out of their minds with the delay, now we're finding that many of those same people do not like One UI7. LOL SMH

There is no way to put app pages apps in alphabetical order and retain the multiple pages. Putting in alphabetical order puts the apps in one page with a scrolling function, which offers horrible usability.

Samsung should not be removing any features, especially since they literally seem incapable of even sticking to a standard without deviating to the very opposite extreme with the next major update. Samsung, you are not apple. We did not purchase your devices, because we wanted you to dictate the user experience like Apple, else we would have simply purchased an apple device.
