I hate the widgets so much, a real downgraded experience. A compute a certain way and I don't like to open my app drawer. If I don't have to. I should be able just to access everything from my home screen. So I lay it out in such a way that it's a dashboard.

I can't do that with these ugly widgets, horrible. I just don't know how anybody could look at those widgets and and think that's a good idea. Including in the control panel, and they're huge. What are we vision impaired? it's just not good for usability at all.

I'm on my Note20 more than any other phone because it's just pleasant to look at, and it's easy to operate. Usefully operational, opposed to the ugly widgets on One UI 8. I don't have ugly widgets all over the place disturbing my peace. Everything is clean and it's calming.

You don't have to use widgets at all. You can add as many app icons to your pages as they can hold and/or organize them into folders.

I use a combination of widgets, apps in folders, and some app icons on my pages, and organize all my app icons in the app drawer into folders by topics. But that's me.

Why do you mind that the control panel widgets are huge?  What else are you going to do with that screen space if the widgets were not there or were smaller?  It's not like it's usable space.  FYI, some people like the big controls there as they have big fingers.  One does not have to be vision impaired to appreciate controls being nice and big. Those that don't like it, don't have to see it all the time because it is hidden behind your screen. You sound as if you have contempt for the visually impaired, as if it's a weakness.  As for home screen widgets, as @Dan2023 said widgets are a convenience and you do not have to use them. If you want widgets, you don't even have to use the native widgets if you hate them so much.  You can download other apps/widgets from the Play or Galaxy stores and have them the way you want.
