Phone - Bixby Text Call

Hey everyone!

As a Verizon customer I am fortunate to have access to this service because they blocked access to all other Phone features by installing a custom Phone app; however, I do have Bixby Text Call and would like to request a new feature. 

Callers hang up thinking Bixby is a voicemail so I cannot really benefit from the feature. Please add the ability to modify the greeting so that we can encourage callers not to hang up. The current greeting is too long and doesn't allow callers to speak for several seconds.

What phone app do they have installed. Can't you just change it to the Samsung one. I haven't had a carrier locked phone in a long time

Well most of the the features don't work but the text call is new and somehow works for now anyway.

They replace the phone app with their own version to force us to use their caller id app which is ridiculous (I bought the phone outright and only got the carrier locked one because they said WiFi calling and some other features wouldn't work if I didn't)

Wifi calling will work. I had an unlocked phone on Verizon. What won't work is their call spam filter. They lied to you to get you to buy a carrier locked version. Now you have to wait 60 days for it to be unlocked before you can do anything

It's been more than 60 days and it is unlocked; however, all unlocking did was let me put a different SIM in if I wanted but updates still come from Verizon and I still cannot change the phone app.

I was definitely misled though for sure.

Like I said that makes no sense verizon shouldn't be putting a different phone on their locked phones. Are you sure you can't use samsung phone
Like I said I haven't had a locked phone in a whole and the last one did was an iPhone. But I thought that carriers could only put their own apps on
Then I learned they can block stuff unless it's apple
If I'm a phone manufacturer I would tell the carriers you sell the phone the way we say or you don't sell them
If o put a verizon or att Sim card in my phone i lose network mode
I would take out the verizon Sim card see if you can get samsung dialer the phone that should be the only phone app on the phone and then disable the verizon one and see if that works

Unlocking the phone doesn't fix the issue either btw all my updates still come from Verizon OTA.

I have a Samsung s22
Some of my apps ask if it's me cause they say I'm signing in with a Generic Android 4.0 for android. Same iPhone address. Does anyone know what this is?

Are you using a browserwser to login cause it's probably that.

I'm not sure what that is. My phone is to smart for me.lol
