Please Samsung don't make your loyal users have to switch to Google Messages. This is so unfair and almost like y'all are selling out!

Samsung is not going to keep their own RCS server, Google isn't going to give access to theirs to third party apps, and there is too much money involved in being able to vacuum up your messages to allow peasants like us to keep using it as an SMS client, which could work for the next 10 years just fine without any involvement from Samsung or Google. Which is why it is not happening.

The former two are software companies though, the latter isn't. And there isn't any money in it for them.
To me the real questions are why it won't work anymore as an SMS client, which is all anyone who cares about privacy would care for, and what other software on these phones has kill switches in it.

Sorry dude, the carriers will not let RCS run from their servers, their solution offloading to Googles Jibe servers.

I understand Apple has also caved to Google Messages. Coming out on their new iPhones.

Is it just me, or does this banner overhead in the Samsung Messages app bother anyone? It feels like an advertisement each time I open the app. It's unsightly. I get the message, but at least wait till the time nears to push it or better still, show up once in a while as a gentle reminder and not make it feel like it's been forced down the throat by plastering on there.
