Please let us keep Samsung Messages, don't make us go to Google Messages!

Look, I'm not a google apps hater or anything, but Google messages sucks! They haven't put any basic time or effort into the design and efficiency whatsoever. As a Small Business owner, I am constantly texting clients as well as independent contractors who work with me on top of communicating with family and friends and being able to categorize my messages has been a LIFE SAVER! It keeps me so much more organized having the ability to have a tab for friends, family, clients, and workers so that I don't have to type search or constantly scroll to find the right chats. This is such a basic but fundamental feature and the customization options available in Samsung messages are desperately needed. PLEASE dont make us switch to google...they clearly couldnt care less about that messaging app of theirs pr the user experience in the slightest.

I agree, I am disappointed and upset at Samsung for forcing this on us. I have been using Samsung Messages since 2017! I also have five Samsung phones, a Samsung Galaxy J7, Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy XCover Pro, and a Galaxy S24 Ultra. All of the phones got this notice except for the J7 from 2017! I don't want Google tracking me any more than they already do and I really am not a fan of the interface. Just let me keep using the interface I am used to! I don't care about RCS and I turned it off years ago! I just want to use Samsung Messages for my SMS messages. My first smartphone was the J7 and it is all I have ever used. Why should I have to learn a new interface when I have everything organized and I know where everything is?

I also feel like this could set a dangerous precedent too where Samsung can just decide they don't want you to have an app on your phone anymore. You have a three year old smartphone? How about we disable the Camera app so you can't take pictures anymore? Let's take away the Calculator app to make you switch to our newest model. I feel like it's crazy but if they can take away Samsung Messages, they can also take away any other app they want, even on older phones you already paid for. I paid for most of these phones years ago already and they are losing features I paid for!

Samsung messages was removed as default messaging app a few generations ago.
We were already on the path for obsolescence in Samsung Messages.
RCS texting is an ever evolving extension to texting capabilities.
Samsung did what they could, but Google update the beta version almost every other day with new code and features for both the phone app, the tablet app, the Web app and the watch app versions.

Please Please keep Samsung Message!! I've tried Google Message and it is terrible! Can't create favorites list and the list goes on! Plus, Google is already to much in our business! If Samsung doesn't change their mind, it may be the time to switch to Apple.....

Regrettably, Samsung has discontinued support for Samsung Messages. We recognize that transitioning to Google Messages may present challenges due to differences in feature sets compared to Samsung Messages.

It's not just about Samsung's features.. well, who am I kidding? Yes, it is primarily because of features. Irregardless, Samsung has always been about sustainable living, environmentally active, & building a connection with its customers. Google is 100% profit based now. Yes, many great services, across so many platforms, apps, & other features.. but it's their style, "feature sets", & "connection" through 3rd parties, integration with bills being passed in the u.s., etc, that make this partnership that much more difficult to understand. It's a complete 180° from what Samsung has incorporated into its brand the past 88 years.
Dont get me wrong, I get the business aspect, the ventures that could come alongside working with Google. But there are other ways to do it, not with one of the main functionalities of a Samsung device.
Apple & the Oled screen partnership was perfect and is still talked about (& meme'd) to this day. But Google will bring the quality down.
Please consider the consumers' reviews, especially the U.S. market, from now to 1 year after rollout. 🙇🏽‍♀️

Samsung as a general mercantile came into being 88 years ago, in 1938.  Samsung ELECTRONICS came into being in 1969.

EVERY SINGLE company in existence is profit motivated - it's why they are in business, to make money.  If their practices no longer align with your values, then no one is stopping you from voting with your wallet and finding a company who is a better fit.  You are not a h ostage.

Well, if you're considering switching to an iPhone, you should reconsider because Apple is going to start integrating Google throughout the system. Even Siri will be powered by the Gemini processor.
