For no reason I can imagine, suddenly my rich, small icon, multiple homescreens morphed into a stubborn single screen, with 7 large, standard app icons.  At the top were the 3 dots, giving me just the option to "Edit" or turn off power saver.  I spent about two hours with an AI trying to figure out what had gone wrong.  We tried lots of things.  I began to wonder if I had a malware infection.  While messing around, it was irritating how quickly the screen darkened and made me re-log.  Eventually, I took the option to turn off the power saver, and VOILA!   Suddenly my whole homescreens returned, perfectly.

I assume somehow I touched something on some screen that caused this problem.   I'm hoping somebody can tell me what I did so I can be much more careful never to do that again.

Go into power saving settings and toggle off "limit apps and home screen"1772765618875.jpg

Thanks for the response.  For some reason, my Settings isn't exactly like that.  Under "Battery" I have "Power saving" off,  Battery Protection at "Basic".

OK, I see that would also get me out of the problem, once it happened, although the three dots gave me the option to turn off the power saver and restore my screens. Any idea what I might have done to cause the problem? I don't believe I went into Settings and turned power saver on. And, why wouldn't they have a warning screen saying this would bork my home screen?

If you have the power saving button in your quick panel, you may have accidentally tapped it. Tap the pencil and remove it if you want.

As far as a "warning screen," there is language by the toggle in my first screenshot, telling you what will happen. The option is toggled off by default, but the system can't prevent you from turning things on or off.1772818210628.jpg
