Samsung DeX PC wired. (Not working on non samsung computers)

Dex will not start on any Windows computer thats not samsung brand. I've searched the internet for any solution, and all I see is suggestions to things I've already tried. Its definitely supported since I've gottem it to work on my HP before, and its a fairly new phone, being the s22+. I have my galaxy book, and it works flawlessly on it. I can connect wired and wireless. But when I get my main laptop, I can only connect wirelessly. I do tye exact same process when connecting to either computer, but nothing happens with my HP. 

I've successfully started dex on my mother's galaxy book as well. Does anyone know why this is happening? And is there a solution? Maybe something I've missed?

I fixed the issue myself, just took some tinkering 🙂

I removed the history of any connections to my phone from my computer. Then plugged it in again and it worked. I can make a tutorial or something like walking you through it.

A video would be great! I've been linking wireless using Phone Link with no problems. I got notification that I needed to update Samsung Dex, which I did because Phone Link wouldn't open. Still doesn't open after the update and I can't get my phone to connect to laptop. Tried unsuccessfully to uninstall app on PC. Aarrgghh!

Sorry, haven't had time to record. But if you go into devices you should look for something suggesting previous wired phone connections, and completely remove it. It should be called whatever you named your phone, or it will just have your phone model. Then connect your phone and dex should start automatically, or prompt you to start dex on your phone. Should look similar to what's in the image I sent.
