Samsung Health removes metrics Samsung removed weight, calorie and caffeine logs from its Health app in an upcoming update coming in July, as the company has started notifying users, thus cutting back some of its features. The company has started to notify its users in Germany that it will withdraw the metrics regarding weight, calorie intake and caffeine, and this decision is expected to be extended to more regions, as indicated in SamMobile.
This change will be made from version 6.11 of Samsung Health for mobiles and v4.1 for Samsung Gear smartwatch. The ‘faces’ or watch faces capable of displaying this data will no longer be able to do so after updating their OS, the same as if you use a Widget on your Samsung mobile. The related data will only be temporarily saved and will be deleted after a certain time.
Go to third-party apps If you have weight control data, including Body Mass Index calculations in Samsung Health, after the update you will have to find another application that does. The same goes for caffeine tracking, which allows users to monitor their consumption.
The reason for this withdrawal? It is not known, as Samsung has not explained it. But it could well be that the company is preparing a new app to replace Health with a payment? What is the future to the customers that used this app?
