When I was offered the new chat features (RCS) for the Samsung messages app I meant to click on "Agree" but missed. Does anyone know how to get that screen back so that I can agree and setup chat message options ??

When I click on Messages, Settings, Chat Settings:  nothing 😞

Thanks in Advance

I just received and installed the April 1st 2021 update after which my phone ask for my phone number.  No indication of why or what for back now I have RCS features, yah 🙂  Several new options under chat setting 🙂

So if you want the new RCS features don't skip the option of entering your phone number.

Open the Messages app.
Tap three-dot menu at the top.
Select Settings.
Tap on Chat Settings
Once in Chat Settings, there are more options available there

If you don't see the option I posted previously, then try this :

Install the "Phone by Google" app and open it. It will ask to be default ... agree.
Tap on the Dialer icon in lower right
Enter *#*#467#*#*
The IMS screen should be displayed
For "IMS Service Switch" option, tap its right arrow
Enable "RCS Switch" option
Scroll down to the "RCS" section.
Ensure all its options are enabled
Close the IMS Switch window
Close the Google Phone app
If you prefer the Samsung Phone app, be sure to make it the default.
Restart your phone ... then check for Chat features in Samsung Messages

I installed the "Phone by Google" app, agreed to set it as default.

Dialed *#*#467#*#*

A voice said "The number you have dialed is incomplete or incorrect ..."

No new screens or options appeared 😞

I am in Australia with the NVO Amaysim via Optus on a Samsung Note 10+, if any of that is important.

My phone is not locked to a carrier.

I purchased it outright from Samsung and installed my own selected SIM.

Your best bet is to factory reset it, and go through the process again

I am not prepared the reset my phone to factory defaults and set it up all again in the hope that I might get "chat options"

Perhaps I will have to live without "chat options" 😞

Navigate ...

select Samsung Messages app
Tap Force Stop lower right
Tap Storage section
Tap Clear Cache lower right
Tap Clear Data lower left

That will clear the app's "remembered" settings
