After a recent upgrade to One UI 8.0, programs within Secure Folder cannot access files also within Secure Folder.

In particular, the Secure Folder versions of Snapseed (photo editing), Protonmail, and Discord cannot find secured files.  Google photos, and Samsung Gallery seem unaffected.

Any help?

I submitted a bug report via the Members App.

Finally they responded saying :

"this issue is Google related, so we've raised this directly to Google to look into"

I does seem like no one from Samsung is taking ownership of this.

Time to seriously look at at a Google Pixel and Private Spaces

I am glad you got a response. If you didn't share your log and screenshots and videos, could you share what you posted in the bug report? Maybe a lot more of us can submit the same verbatim report and have a better chance of not being asked for more and more and more information! The more reports that they accept, the less they can hide.

I submitted a bug via Members with the following details.

Following UI 8.0 update some Applications running within the Secure Folder (e.g. Chrome, Opera Samsung Internet Browser) are not able to view or access files stored within the Secure Folder.

I did include a log. But as this was done outside the Secure Folder I'd assume that this should not breach the Secure Folder.

Thanks. I will try the same and see how they respond.

A response from another post. This does make sense and explains why browsers are affected

Our technical experts have now reviewed your report, and theyโ€™ve confirmed that this issue is related to the Google DocumentsUI system, which manages how files are accessed and shared across apps. Theyโ€™ve already registered this with Googleโ€™s issue tracker, so it can be investigated further on their end.

At the moment, weโ€™re awaiting feedback from Google, and once theyโ€™ve completed their checks, our team will provide an update accordingly.

In the meantime, if you need to upload files, you may still be able to do so directly from within apps that have Secure Folder access or by moving the files temporarily out of Secure Folder (if youโ€™re comfortable doing s o).

I have a XCover6 Pro UI7, secure folder is working!
I have a XCover7 Pro updatet to UI8, secure folder is not working (it worked under UI7)! I cannot open files from within secure folder.

So, what is the difference between the documentsui app in both phones? I made 2 screenshots. Both are version 16, but the size is different and there seems to be an issue with the installation date

After a recent upgrade to One UI 8.0, images, documents, audio saved within Secure Folder cannot access files also when trying to share from an app which is also in the Secure Folder.

There's a few threads that suggest Samsung are claiming it as a tech issue
