Silence pop-up ads

Can anyone tell me how to silence the blasting sound when I open the Holy Bible app? I  can deal with the pop-up ads, but the blasting sounds are a distraction when I  trying to discretely have devotion. I  do not want to pay a monthly add removal fee.
