Slow to update security patch!

This is my first security patch since the removal of the ability to WCP on my S23FE.

Observation: for a security patch that was only 426MB, it took a very long time to apply before getting to the optimizing apps phase of the update, prior to the actual reboot. If this update performed an automatic system-wide cache partition wipe, it took too long. Of course, as per usual with Samsung, there were no changelogs.

I can only imagine how long it will take to update when my device gets UI 8.5.

I would really like to know what's going on with single-partition device updates, now that WCP has been removed. Those devices still have a cache partition and temp files still get copied there during an update. If they get auto-dumped, it would be really nice to know that. But Samsung doesn't like telling users anything, so we're perpetually left in the dark.

Samsung's unannounced implementation of the removal of the menu option to clear the contents of the cache partition was very disappointing. Samsung provides this Members app where knowledgeable users freely assist their less knowledgeable customers. Not providing any prior information concerning this change, I can only call negligent. Samsung needs to post a detailed explanation of what has changed and why. They owe this to the many dedicated people who appear here on a daily basis to assist others.
