When I launch Smart View, the display just spins and never finds any TVs.  I have had this issue in two separate locations with multiple TV types.  It worked several weeks ago.  I can't say for sure but I think it was prior to the last systems update which my phone says happened on August 3, 2019.

My phone model # is SM-N960U1

Android Version 9

Any ideas?

You have to connect both devices like a bluetooth device but using smart view especially if you doing a new setup

It was a bonehead error on my side.  I had two issues

1) I finally checked to see that the Insignia TV I was trying with does not support screen mirroring.

2) I then went to another room and tried with another TV that is outfitted with a current Fire Stick and when I followed the instructions, it connected right away.

So, my mistake.

Apologies for causing unnecessary clutter.

Try doing a factory reset that may or may not fix the problem, you may never know until you try everything. before doing that check to see what your setting are and go from there.
