I just recently received my Note 8 from Verizon.

 

I truly love this phone except for the fact that I can't get Smart View to work. I have tried it with 2 Samsung TV's, an Amazon Fire TV, a Google Chromecast, and even a USB C to HDMI adapter. Smart View never connects and never recognized the USB adapter.

 

Is their a bug in the software for the phone? It is showing as fully up to date.

Is anyone from Samsung monitoring this thread and cares to comment.

 

I have no adblocker...

I made sure no other app was ru ning.

Set display timeout to 2 mins...

Varied resolution...

It still did not work after a couple of doezn attempts.

 

Samsung note 8 is not connecting to the same Samsung TV, samsung note 5 used to connect to...

I got it working by disabling Edge Lighting. Hope it helps someone.

   Uninstall AD BLOCK or any popup blockers is my advice.  This fixed my note 8 smart view connection immdeiately and as well I also recomend if you have a fire stick to unplug it for 30 seconds.

Thanks allot I have been working on this for 3 days lol was starting to miss my 8+ but now I realized it was actually my fault so anyone who has ad block or ad block for Samsung browser remove it and smart view will work

Same problem for me. Contacted support they know nothing. My old Lenovo!!! works perfectly with both Smart view TVs. Note 8 is a HUGE disappointment. No support at all!!! P.s. do not have any Ad blocks and tried everything people write above. Samsung, you stole few days of my life already. Will never pay for Samsung again!!!

We have 2 Note 8. None works with Smart TV, connects and then phone disconnects in 20-30 seconds. One of the Tv UE32H5303

hey everyone, I think I have figured this out. I was also having trouble connecting, it kept telling me I needed to connect to the same network, even though I already had. The issue is you need to have the "smart view" setting on. Swipe from the top to bring down the pull-down menu, press the smart view button. This should bring your phone screen onto the TV screen. Next, click the blue button and click pause sharing. You should now be able to use your phone as a remote control. it's kindve annoying that I have to go through this step every time, I'd like to just pull down from the top and click use as remote control like I did with my s7. also that blue circle is annoying on my screen. does anyone know how to use the remote without having smart view on?

I can screen mirror and use the remote control for the tv on my phone but my Note 8 won't allow me to watch the tv on my screen. It was working a few weeks ago and now I keep being told to make sure I am on the same network. I am.  Anyone have any advice?

I have had my Note 8 for about 3 weeks.  It worked the first couple of days I had it, but now nothing connects.  Please, someone at Samsung, respond to these requests.
