I spent a good part of the morning trying to connect to my two smarttags using the smartthings app.  I kept getting a message that I needed to turn off airplane mode because I did not have an internet connection.  However I had a solid internet connection and bluetooth connections because I turned them on while in airplane mode.

I was on my phone and I was international.  If I turned off airplane mode I would have been charged for connecting to an international network at great cost.

I went to my tablet which does not have a mobile connection but does have both wifi and bluetooth and turned off the airplane mode on that device.

Then both smarttags showed up and refreshed their postions.

This is a MAJOR bug.  It should not be neccessary to turn off airplane mode as long as you have wifi and bluetooth running.  This may not be a problem in your home country on your home service but if you are traveling internationally and trying to track your luggage you are out of luck
