Samsung Apps and Services
In regards to social media posting of photos and videos, What's the update with the whole compression issue? I heard that developers can't access something called Samsung camera codec or Samsung camera's API, not sure which one. But essentially that if you open the camera while being in the Instagram or whatever social media app you're using, they essentially take like a screenshot or screen recording of whatever your camera sees and then uses that, on something called a "viewfinder"
As opposed to developers being able to access something called "iPhones native liibrary" with more ease. So what is this whole compression thing? if I select like 24 megapixels on my s24 ultra and 24 megapixels on my iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I upload the image shouldn't the compression be the same? Would like to know more detail about this issue, cuz all I hear is just "oh compression compression" but never really understand what that means.
