Still Can't Auto-Mure my phone during calendar events

In 2025, the 3rd year of AI and the year of AI OneUi enhancements, I can set up a Routine in the Calendar app to make my entire house of IoT devices to turn on and do a backflip when an event is about to start, but I can't mute my phone automatically.

This is functionality Samsung support 2 years ago confirmed that they remove from stock Android (and is available on Pixel devices)

Anybody else discover a workaround for this default android feature that's been removed for us?

I made a mode I named quiet mode, which mutes everything when I activate it (it's for when I'm in an environment where the sounds would be unwelcome, like the doctor's office).  Well, it adjusts the volume on my Bluetooth audio and mutes all other sounds and notifications, in case I choose not to use my headphones or buds.  It is possible that you are not setting the right control in your routine, or you might have to create a mode and then set your routine to activate that mode.  The action you are looking for is sound mode and volume in the sounds and vibration section.  Add that and adjust the volume levels or just hit the mute icon. It is available in routines.

Thanks for the input and recommendation, you still need to manually trigger this mode when you want to use it though right?

As a mode, I have it to trigger it manually, because only I know when I am in a place where I want quiet.  I amended my post above to show the control.  It is, indeed, available in routines, as well.  If you create it as a mode, you can also just trigger the mode in the routine.  There is an action for modes in the routines. When you tap it to add it, it asks you which mode you want to turn on.  But, no need for the mode creation if you can just directly add it to your routine.  Add action: Sounds and vibration/sound mode and volume.

That makes sense, my goal is a bit different though, stock Android allows you to trigger a mode or a routine based on calendar events, this is what I'm after.

Ah, yeah. The best one can do here is to trigger based in a specific day/time or notification from the calendar (all or by key word). You can try adding the action notification from app (calendar) (keyword - add key word) and see how that goes. Youd have to set your notification for the time of the event or as close to it as possible. I can add a notification for "0"minutes before in Google calendar. So your routine would go something like this:

and you would set your calendar events with the keyword(s) that will trigger the routine and set your notification for "0" minutes before or "1" minute before.  Not perfect, but maybe a good workaround, since I assume you don't want it triggered for all calendar events. You can even use the key word "trigger" and add it to the event title, for events you want to trigger the routine.

Do you know if this would work in the notification description too? Or just the title, this may work if I check the notification for 'meeting' or something similar

Nevermind, can't do this with work profile notifications anyway

Well you could still create a mute mode and activate it when your event starts. You can put a widhet on your screen for easy access. You can also just configure do not disturb which will stop all notifications and calls during your meetings

I understand that, but again in the age of AI and now years into smarthome IoT devices I'm amazed this isn't possible to do automatically (again, this feature is available on Google devices). I have multiple meetings daily and they shift frequently, having the audible alert is important for my busy lifestyle because I have specific notification sounds for certain apps to classify priority.

I have a lawn that mows itself, a Samsung washer and dryer that automatically set settings and alert my TVs when the cycles are done, and a ton of other home automations, but I can't mute my phone programmatically. I appreciate your suggestions, but this shouldn't be a difficult ask as many other companies have implemented this already.
