I've never used Themes, but I really customize my homescreens. I only use two. My main screen is my "info board." All my widgets on that screen have touch points that open different apps. You can't tell, but I have 32 apps on that main info board page. The second screen has my folders, and you can't tell, but there are 8 of them. The widget in the middle gives me easy access to sound control, like mute, silent, or sound.
Every widget I use started with a template that I customized, right down to the text size, font, and color. I stack the widgets so when I change my wallpaper, I just use either the black or white versions of the same
