I can see that. However I'd prefer samsung messages over Google messages. Google messages gives me the vibe of to much access to personal info via text messages fo email and ect. I like my stuff separated. Plus I like samsungs layout better than Google messages.

It's not like your text messages are locked to Samsung Messages

You can switch between the two, and others, and they all read from the same text database

Exactly. Google has shown time and time again they're willing to get dirtier and more malicious in order to collect more user data. They just pay the fine and move on. I'm sure they'd LOVE to have access to my messages. That's why I stick to the samsung app.
