I recently received a couple of SmartTag+ devices and have set them to alert me when I leave them behind. That part works well, except that I have set my home as a "safe place" where according to the description I am not supposed to be notified if I leave a tag there. However I am constantly notified if I leave my house, or even walk to the other side of my house when it loses bluetooth connectivity. Originally I had the area of my home set just wide enough to cover my property but when I got alerts when I left my house I expanded the circle to about a quarter of a mile. I'm still getting the notifications.
I contacted Samsung support and they had me clear the cache of the Smartthings app and remove and re-pair the tag but that did not resolve the issue. Has anyone else experienced this?
Is this still happening? I've just removed them from notify when found because of so many false alerts at home. Very unfortunate that this big feature doesn't work. Plus the batteries die without warning until you need to find them and they just show the last update day sometimes weeks ago. This is a big deal for me because I have ELEVEN of these (1 smart tag plus).
Yes this is still happening even after the updated SmartThings app that was released a couple of days ago. I agree this is very unfortunate this doesn't work properly.
