I’ve had the Powerbot R7040 for about three weeks and it had been working great.  The past few days, however, I’ve been finding it in random spots around the house, totally out of juice.  Most frequently, it’s been in the back bedroom, not caught on anything, not wedged in any tough spot.  The mark on the carpet don’t show any random patterns showing confusion, but also no attempt to make a move back toward the base.  Any thoughts? Solutions?   Thanks!

Hello! Have you set up the Smart Things app? Have you tried resetting the unit using the switch on the bottom?

Yes. I have done both.  I’ve had the app since day 1 and tried the bottom switch yesterday.

Are you able to see the map that the Powerbot has created via the app?

When it actually completes a cleaning, yes. If it dies in the middle, no.  As I just looked at the history, however, I noticed something I hadn’t noticed before. The history says that during this morning’s auto-clean, which it did not finish, that it did attempt to go back to recharge mid clean.  But as I said in the original post, it sure didn’t look like it when I found it out of gas in the bedroom.  You can also see that yesterday’s auto clean worked, but that was one I started manually later in the evening, not the scheduled cleaning.

Just to doublecheck, you are not picking it up or moving it mid-cycle? Have you moved the charging dock?

No.  The dock has not been moved and I have not messed with it while it’s been cleaning.  However, the past 2 days it has completed its auto-clean without any issues.  Not sure what to think.

I have this same issue. I start an auto-clean before leaving the house, only to come home and find him in the middle of the room completely dead battery.

When I review history I see he did one 45-50 min round, recharge for 25 mins, then continue cleaning and die after about 20 mins.

He only ever completed an entire cleaning cycle 1 time in the 2 months I have had it.

I am looking for help, or else I will have to go buy a Neato again, which I had for 3 years and it worked flawlessly.
