I bought a SmartTag but I tried to download the SmartThings app on my Samsung a12 phone but it wouldn't work so im trying to figure out is it compatible with my device or no

Have you downloaded the SmartThing App first ?. Then follow the instructions on the smartTag to install.

Well if samsing is gonna say it works with all smasungs they should put except the samsung a12

It is recommended to check the compatibility of required apps or software prior to purchasing items as not all Samsung devices are compatible with each other. The SmartThings app is unfortunately not compatible with the Galaxy A12.
