SmartThings app won’t change series 8 tv channels

I have a Samsung 7 series tv and an 8 series tv that I recently linked to Alexa via the SamrtThings app. The 7 series worked perfectly and both the SmarThings app and the Alexa app via SmartThings are able to fully control the tv.

The 8 series tv didn’t do as well. After the initial setup both SmartThings and Alexa were only able to turn on the series 8. Then I realized that the 8 series has an internal setting (general/network/expert settings/power on with mobile) that must be activated in order to turn the tv on with SmartThings and Alexa.

Now the only issue is that neither of the apps will change the channels on the series 8. Several of the SmartThings app remote functions do work, but not the channels. How can I activate the channel changing operation on the SmartThings app so that it will change the series 8 channels? Thanks!
