Using the SmartThings app on iOS, app ver 1.6.49-413: I grow weary of Samsung wanting to charge $5/month for their art library for the Art-Mode app on the TV: 2020 The Frame 55" with the latest July 2020 firmware. I am seeing only errors attempting to use the SmartThings app to upload onto the TV my own JPEG images of various sizes: 4K and straight off the iPhone camera roll. The app simply fails every time, even after restarting the app and the TV. They are connected, networking is fine, just the app throws a generic error and I am left with a completely non-functional Art-Mode.

I recommend reaching out to our smart things department at 1-800-Samsung.

Two observations:

I received somewhat savvy support for this issue via filing a support case through the SmartThings app.

I resolved the issue by switching my TV to use WiFi, instead of hard-wired ethernet. SmartThings seems to require WiFi despite the TV also offering perfectly competent wired LAN connectivity.

Also know that the firmware for the TV has evolved a lot in recent months. Pursue getting to the latest FW and things may improve a lot.
